Something to Say with Tangrams
Instructor | Gyleen Fitzgerald |
Ever made a wall-hanging that just needed a little something “extra”? You know the one that is pretty but not specular. Well, we are going to fix that. Silhouette applique is so much fun and when using the Zillion of possibilities with seven shapes of a Tangram, oh my, what a home run. This is my go to “fix it” idea. And to add a punch or not, why not stencil your favorite few words on the front. You will need to bring a completed wall-hanging or small quilt that needs that something extra and then the fun begins. Wow, no UFO since it’s already “finished”.

Discover YOUR Style of Hand Quilting
Instructor | Gyleen Fitzgerald |
Not enough time, our famous words when we talked about hand quilting. Hmm, let’s get out of someone else’s box and learn a modernized hand quilting style. Not small nor big but just right … for you. It’s what you feel comfortable doing. We will look at Welsh and African influenced designs. I’m thinking a 20″ x 20″ project. Kit will include: stencil, needles, marking pencils and thread.

Class notes: Holding a quilt seminar on a cruise ship is a unique experience. Sometimes there are space and time challenges that prevent our being able to be “project oriented” and we must concentrate more on process. It is very unlikely that you will have an absolutely finished project at the end of a class. It is helpful if your expectations match these realities. But regardless of how far you are able to progress, our instructors are professionals—some of the best in the quilting world—and we know you will learn many new techniques and have a wonderful experience!
