Travel to the capital city of Australia today, Canberra. Canberra is a city filled with history and culture but also has a thriving arts and foodie scene, a wonderful mix of the old and the new. Your leader will provide an orientation tour of the city including a visit to a quilt shop. The rest of the afternoon is yours at leisure.

After breakfast, the group will head to Wangaratta, home of The Mill Shop. This is a wholly Australian owned and operated spinning mill which produces the finest quality commercial and hand knitting yarns. It contains a broad range of yarns, from pure wool to economical acrylic yarn. There is something here for everyone.

Today travel to Melbourne, a city known for its amazing food, museums, street art and sports teams. As well as a variety of festivals and events, such as the Australasian Quilt Convention that your group is here to attend. This evening attend the Welcome Cocktail Party* to mark the opening of the event. The party takes place at the Royal Exhibition Building.
