2022 West Coast Quilt Cruise

Cruise Itinerary

On this convenient roundtrip San Diego cruise, you will visit the charming town of Avalon, America's shining city by the sea (San Francisco), Santa Barbara's prime oceanfront location, and Ensenada, nicknamed the Pearl of the Pacific and Baja California's third largest city.

Holland America also has two exclusive tours just for our group (both include a light lunch):

  • San Francisco
Depart the pier for downtown San Francisco. Head down to the main commercial boulevard, Market Street, for time at Britex Fabrics, a landmark store with six decades of history selling fabrics of all varieties. Cross the Bay Area's other famous bridge, the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, en route to the famous college town of Berkeley. The first stop is the Lacis Museum of Lace and Textiles, a haven for the textile community that was established as an extension of the Lacis Store. After the museum, stop at a local sandwich shop for a tasty lunch. You'll also visit Stonemountain & Daughter Fabrics, another Bay Area institution with 100 years in the fabric industry, and New Pieces Quilt Shop, a haven of sewing specialists who are passionate quilt makers. Depart the "east bay" side of the water, before returning to San Francisco and the pier.
  • Santa Barbara
Enjoy a series of quilt shop visits along the central California coast. Start the day with a short drive south along the beautiful coastline to the small seaside town of Carpinteria, to Roxanne's, A Wish and A Dream. Roxanne's is a quilting, knitting and needlework shop where the d├ęcor is just as interesting as their offerings. Then you're off to Ventura and Superbuzzy, a boutique featuring numerous options for craft supplies including a specialization in Japanese fabrics. Superbuzzy has been featured in many craft magazines over the years since their founding in 2006. Head back up the coast to downtown Santa Barbara for lunch in the area known as the red tile district for the prevalent colonial Spanish architecture, with time for an included lunch. The last visit will be to Raoul Textiles, a workshop, design firm and showroom featuring an intriguing array of textiles and design pieces. Head back to the pier after a fun day.
