Alaska Adventure

7 Days • August 9-16, 2025
Explore the majestic Glacier Bay on this Alaskan adventure with instructors Jaimie Davis, Sally Manke, Jenny Lyon and Chardel Blaine.
Dear Quilters and Friends, One of our favorite destinations is Alaska, and we’re looking forward to returning again in August of 2025 to Glacier Bay! Join us for this special seven day sailing roundtrip from Seattle. We’ll cruise on Holland America Line’s wonderful Vista Class ship, the ms Eurodam. You’ll be part of a warm group of fun-loving people sharing a common interest in quilting, and have an opportunity to make new friends, one quilter at a time! Our classes are held during “at sea” days and we make every attempt to schedule classes outside of port time. There are a wide variety of classes from which to choose, taught by four renown instructors in the world of quilting: Jaimie Davis, Sally Manke, Jenny Lyon and Chardel Blaine!

Quilting and “sewcializing”

There’s something wonderful awaiting you in every port of call! You can play tourist, choosing your pleasure whether it be walking, touring, flight-seeing or shopping! All the ports we visit are right in town, and there is a lot to see within walking distance, including quilt shops in every port! Onboard ship you will have the opportunity to perfect your quilting skills with many class choices from our fabulous teachers, as well as myriad opportunities for “SEWCIALIZING” with other people who all share your love of quilting! We will be bringing new sewing machines for your use. You can even go home with a wonderful buy on a new machine!

Ports of Call

Juneau – In Alaska’s capital, taste salmon baked over an alderwood fire, pan for gold, flight-see the Juneau Ice Field, and visit the Mendenhall glacier.

Sitka – Step back to the days of Russian Alaska as you watch lively performances of the New Arch-angel Dancers and view holy paintings of the Czarists’ _days. Plenty of wildlife adventures await!

Icy Strait Point – See the beautifully restored cannery building, museum and cannery demonstration set amid the breathtaking backdrop of the Tongass.

Ketchikan – Immerse yourself in Tlingit Indian culture as you view the world’s largest collection of totem poles or kayak the colorful waterfront. Visit Creek Street, see Alaska as the early pioneers did.

Victoria – A charming British-influenced city plunked in the rugged Pacific Northwest. You can have high tea in an English garden and go whale watching the same day. You’re always a stone’s throw from a windswept beach or a pint at a convivial pub—and it’s the perfect swirl of city life and nature.
