Whale’s Tail

Instructor Sandra Mollon
A whale’s tail in the water, with an Alaska mountain distant background. Predominant colors are black, grey, white, and some teal. This quilt will be raw edge fused or glued. The image I am using for the tail and it’s reflection is below. The mountains will be added to the distant background. I do not have the exact size yet, the sample is just a sketch in progress in the moment and I am starting to hand dye fabrics for the water. I would approximate the size as about 26” to 28” wide and about the same height.
Required Kit – $45.00 (Paid Directly to Instructor)
Kit includes all fabrics to make the top (hand dyed and commercial batiks), and the full sized pattern
Skill Level: Fun for all (perfect for all levels of experience).

Class notes: Holding a quilt seminar on a cruise ship is a unique experience. Sometimes there are space and time challenges that prevent our being able to be “project oriented” and we must concentrate more on process. It is very unlikely that you will have an absolutely finished project at the end of a class. It is helpful if your expectations match these realities. But regardless of how far you are able to progress, our instructors are professionals—some of the best in the quilting world—and we know you will learn many new techniques and have a wonderful experience!
